The questions were very general and incredibly relaxed. I was asked if I would do anything different in the lesson that I taught and if I had planned to use the TA for any activities. There was a general and very noticeable look of shock when I explained I had never had a TA and that TAs did not exist in schools in Ireland. They also asked if I intended to get a QTS (qualified teacher status) in England. They said that I would get a call that evening to let me know.
I got a call later to be told that as I do not have QTS they cannot currently let me work in the school but as soon as I have my QTS I am to let them know and I will have a job!! I'm so excited! The job is as a supply teacher so I will be covering classes if a teacher is absent through illness or courses or PPA. While the work is not everyday it is great to have something to look forward to, and at the same time I am going to signed up to an agency also for day to day supply work.
Roll on January and my new London life! I will keep you all updated about how things are going over here!!
