At this stage we are required to have uploaded the reflective learning journal. Because I mixed up times I got mine finished 5 hours before it was due - an incredibly rare event. At this stage everyone is panicking about what they should have ready. For me it would be important to at least know your themes and have an idea of what you are teaching for each theme. Currently I have most of my Modular plan ready to go and will get it checked by the teacher on Monday. I also have most of my IFDs completed and I have a couple of lessons planned and ready to go. I have my behavioural management system planned and ready to explain on Monday to the teacher and class next Monday. For the IEP I said that I would use games on a tablet and I have these downloaded and have familiarised myself with the best ways that these can be used to benefit the children. I also have my timetable sorted for the whole TP and again will get this checked by the teacher on Monday so I can make any changes that she suggests are needed.
Over this weekend I will be trying to finish organising my folders and try to get my modular plan and IFDs finished. I will try to get a few more lessons for next week finished and get my resources organised. Even though I wont be teaching until Wednesday I do think it is important to make a good impression on Day 1 and at least appear to be organised when you walk in. Finally I will have a lesson and resources ready just in case the teacher asks me if I want to teach a lesson that day.
Finally don't get too stressed if you need to take a break in planning make sure you take it and don't let the pressure get to you. If you have a mentor get in contact with them if you are unsure about anything. The same if you have already been in contact with your supervisor. Make sure you let your supervisor know if you have anything going on that will affect you on teaching practice, especially anything that affects your ability to give Teaching Practice your all. finally don't be afraid to contact the college if you need extra support - that is what they are there for.
Best of luck everyone :)
